Becky FROM THE BLOCK

the multi-talented artist born Rebbeca Marie Gomez on 2 March 1997 (no relation to Selena Gomez!) is fast becoming one of the most sensational Latino entertainers of our time. Raised in Inglewood, California, in a family of Mexican descent, Becky was discovered singing on YouTube in 2011 by producer Dr. Luke - and it's been a roller-coaster ride ever since!

THE VOICE OF A NEW GENERATION

Her success story is impressive (with nearly 20 music awards under her belt at the age of 26) but it did not come easy. Growing up, she faced marginalisation due to her background and ethnicity.

"When I was younger, I was bullied for not fitting in. But instead of letting it break me, I used it as fuel to push me to become the person I am today," she says. "Never let the negativity get to you. There are gonna be a lot of people you have to plow through, but as long you believe in yourself, that's all that matters."

JUST say NO
