Forty-five years ago, the Japanese manufacturer Toyota revealed an all-new sports car, one that would later become as legendary as the Nissan GT-R and Honda NSX.

Supra was a $10,000 flying machine, offering supercar thrills at a more affordable price. An instant hit with enthusiasts, the two-seat coupe also proved ultrareliable and economical, surviving in various forms until 1998.

Sorely missed by enthusiasts, Supra was brought back to life in 2019, in a collaboration between Toyota and BMW. A direct rival to the Porsche Cayenne, the new GR Supra was based on the same underpinnings as the BMW Z4.
