AIRLINES ARE SOARING to new heights this year, but passengers are feeling the pinch in their wallets. The same flights they used to book are now leaving them shell-shocked with fares that have skyrocketed by a whopping 27 percent.

But here's the twist: The CEOs of these airlines couldn't be happier. United Airlines CEO Scott Kirby declared, "I am absolutely thrilled by the outstanding performance of the United team in the first quarter of 2023. We have witnessed an unprecedented surge in operating cash flow. And we're on track to meet our ambitious cost targets for the entire year."
