This issue, we honour 30 inspiring individuals in Women of Power 2023. Hailing from various walks of life, the ladies featured in our signature campaign this year tell us about sustaining the impact of their work, and how we could chip in to carve a brighter future. And the one thing that underscores all 30 of them? Brilliance. This Genius issue, we also feature some of the brightest movers and shakers in the luxury industry. There is our cover girl Zoen Tay, who has already launched a successful career as a medical industry professional, a beauty entrepreneur and a social media influencer. Marcus Lim, a former casino rainmaker who has just published a book on selling to “whales”, tells us how to win in life through sales strategies. Celebrating 130 years since it created the world's first cultured pearl, Mikimoto's latest high jewellery collection, Praise to the Sea, pays homage to the origin of its iconic pearls - the ocean. Comprising a variety of astounding necklaces, earrings, bracelets, rings and brooches, the creations highlight the Japanese jeweller's unrivalled craftsmanship and nacre treasures. On one of the collection's largest necklaces, worn by the model above, ocean currents are depicted by a rhythmic web of elegant Akoya cultured pearls, whose brilliance and iridescence are reminiscent of bubbles. Adding more movement to the statement piece is a school of colourful fish, set with precious gems.
