AS WATCHES & WONDERS 2023 ENDS, WE ARE NOW BLESSED WITH A MARVELLOUS SELECTION OF NEW TIMEPIECES FROM THE WORLD OF HOROLOGY. INDEED, WHILE WE DELVE INTO THE MYRIAD OF WATCHES NOW AVAILABLE TO US, WE ARE NOW TASKED WITH SHOWCASING A HANDFUL OF HIGHLIGHTS FROM THE LEGENDARY GENEVA WATCH FAIR. WE TAKE THIS ON WITH GREAT ENTHUSIASM AND GLEE FOR THESE ARE JUST SOME OF THE STANDOUTS FOR THIS YEAR. WE WISH TO REITERATE THAT THE EIGHT TIMEPIECES ON THE FOLLOWING PAGES ARE JUST THE TIP OF THE ICEBERG AND THAT THERE ARE MANY MORE WATCHES THAT WE SHALL FEATURE IN THE COMING ISSUES.
FUN TIMES WITH HOROLOGY
Although devoid of high complications, the new Rolex Oyster Perpetual - Celebration is overf lowing with whimsical ideas and colour. Featuring an all-new lacquered dial motif composed of different-sized bubbles fringed with black, the watch is an immensely fun showcase of vivid hues.
As with all Rolex timepieces, this Oyster Perpetual is certified Superlative Chronometer. This ensures that all watches from Rolex have successfully passed a series of rigorous tests conducted by Rolex in addition to the official certification of the watch movements by the Swiss Official Chronometer Testing Institute (COSC). The precision of a Rolex Superlative Chronometer is at −2 /+2 seconds per day.
While the Oyster Perpetual 31 comes powered by the Rolex calibre 2232, the Oyster Perpetual 36 and the Oyster Perpetual 41 are instead powered by the calibre 3230. These in-house movements first arrived in 2020 and provide outstanding accuracy, power reserve, functionality and reliability.
