MoveMic One and MoveMic Two with one and two microphones respectively, and the MoveMic Two Receiver Kit, reviewed here, that has two microphones, charging case, receiver, two USB-C to C cables, a 3.5mm to 3.5mm coiled cable and a roll pouch. The included roll pouch is nice but isn’t as protective as compared to the hard cases of the Rode Wireless Pro or the DJI Mic 2. There’s also no USB-C to Lightning cable.
One of the most unique things about the Shure MoveMic system is direct connectivity to phones and Shure’s own apps. If you want to take a video, use the Video app. The UX is simple, but can be a bit slow when changing settings. There’s even livestream integration, but YouTube livestream isn’t supported till a future software update.
The MOTIV app (not Motiv Video) is a pure audio recorder. Audio formats like WAV, FLAC, Apple Lossless, and AAC can be chosen, with recording quality up to 24-bit/48kHz.
The most glaring limitation is that the microphones only really work with Shure’s own apps if you connect via Bluetooth. The workaround is to connect the microphones through the receiver. This is the same for other apps like Zoom and other devices like desktops and notebooks.
The receiver is quite bulky too compared to the Rode Wireless Pro. One upside is that there’s a cold shoe mount. The downside is that the cold shoe mount is not removable, which can be a little annoying and adds weight.
