WITH INTEL’S POWERHOUSE Core i9-13900K taking the limelight in some of our most recent stand-out builds, it was inevitable that we’d follow up with AMD’s top challenger. After getting our hands on the Ryzen 9 7950X3D, we simply had to pair this with the most powerful GPU on the block, Nvidia’s RTX 4090. These two components alone should ensure our machine is packed to the brim with power, so you know we had to face it against our 8K gaming monster machine Guy built in our Holiday 2022 issue. Will AMD’s CPU take the throne, or sit in second place? With tricks up its sleeve like 3D V-Cache, 16 cores, 32 threads, and up to 5.7GHz max boost frequency, it will surely put up a good fight.
Processors aside, the rest of the internals had to match in terms of quality, so we made sure of that. Super-speedy RAM, loads of lightning fast storage, and enough fans to turn this build into a hovercraft? Check. We also chose a sleek chassis to house all of these impressive components: the Phanteks NV7 full tower case. Hiding these parts away would be a sin, so by having a case with two large glass panels, everything is on display. Choosing an all-white color scheme should make the RGB lighting pop too, so we can make it match any theme. It also should give us plenty of space to build in, making the whole process smoother. Win-win, right? Let’s move things along and see what this system adds up to.

Intel Raptor Lake Core 19 Instability Problems
THE RACE BETWEEN AMD AND INTEL has heated up in the past few years as Ryzen processors have become increasingly competitive. The amount of headroom for overclocking has shrunk in response, and it seems motherboard vendors may have tweaked settings a bit too aggressively.
