The Harper’s BAZAAR Asia NewGen Fashion Award came back in full force this year with plenty of star power and excitement all around, after over two years of pandemic related restrictions. Inside the venue, entertainment agency NoonTalk Media, Serina Lee, 22, of LASALLE College of the Arts, walked away with this year’s top prize of $10,000 in cash, along with a sponsorship for a one-year course at the London campus of Istituto Marangoni worth over $50,000. Her collection will also be showcased in the January 2023 issue of Harper’s BAZAAR Singapore—along with those of the other five finalists, Joe Kean, Sit Shi Jie, Faith Lois Seet Fae, Arthur Chong and Choi Nakyeong—and sold at Design Orchard and OneOrchard.Store early next year.
Serina and this year’s other finalists were able to fulfil a dream many fashion students can only dream of: Staging a full-fledged runway show in front of top industry leaders, celebrities and other esteemed guests.
THE STARS WERE OUT
The guest list included industry luminaries and a host of other stars. Popular Thai actor Nattawin Wattanagitiphat, better known as Apo to his fans, was in attendance, drawing a dedicated crowd of fans. He was joined by BAZAAR’s celebrity friends: Singaporean actors Ayden Sng, Carrie Wong and Fiona Xie, singers Iman Fandi and Jon Chua, model Aimee Cheng-Bradshaw, TikTok infl uencers David Eung Hao, David Matthew Ubaña and Raynold Tan.

HOROSCOPE
TAURUS (21 APR - 21 MAY) Happy birthday, Taurus! This May, your life takes the form of a mandala an intricate shape made from coloured sand that is destroyed after its creation. This doesn't mean that you'll lose everything. In fact, the whole month has the potential to be highly abundant, especially around the 19th, when Venus transits through your sign. Be brave and let go of attachments.
