Stuart Vevers has never shied away from making a statement when it comes to creating a collection for Coach and for his Spring/Summer 2023 show, he created an entire pier as the stage for his runway show at Park Avenue Armory.
Rather than just the usual parade of models, the show started with a dramatic, yet calming showcase of theatrics where models reenacted a scene of lovers, friends and family (and an Afghan hound) spending tranquil time at the pier during the golden hour. While one might call it a beach inspiration, the way it was presented was more “on how young New Yorkers approach the idea of the beach”, in which case points to Coney Island or just a simple pier on the West Side, all filled with that unmistakable New York energy that is almost magical.
