ANASTASIA TUPITSYNA
Some would say that Russian makeup artist and creator Anastasia Tupitsyna needs no introduction. If you've spent most of the year scrolling through TikTok, chances are you've seen Tupitsyna turn up on your "For You Page" with her studio-quality makeup tutorials and transition videos.
The 24-year-old now has millions of followers on her social media platforms, which further proves that she's a force to be reckoned with in the beauty sphere now. Her videos do so well that she's even gotten the attention of Lady Gaga, with the singer commenting on one of Tupitsyna's most popular videos.
"I've always liked makeup," explains the creator. "I started to get into it when I was 14 years old. I used to come home after school and put on my mum's makeup just to take some nice pictures when no one was looking." Now, Tupitsyna has ventured into beauty content creation full-time, spending most of her days working on bettering her skills in this field.
"I usually create a few videos with the same makeup look in one day, namely transitions and tutorials," she tells us. "Setting up the studio, doing my makeup, and filming takes over five to seven hours. After this, I do post-editing. It usually takes a few days for me to produce three to four videos."
Many of your makeup videos have gone viral, capturing the attention of celebrities like Lady Gaga. How validating is it to receive such praise for your videos?
It means a lot to me to get people's support for the work I do. Of course, when legends like Lady Gaga pay attention to my videos, I really appreciate it. It gives me the confidence to do everything right.
