A LIGHT TOUCH

When the going got tough on her latest house renovation, Molly Fern of NW3 Interiors and her owner-client created a coping mechanism, asking each other the question: "Is it worth the wrinkles?'. Their answer was always a unanimous 'No', which made them laugh and stood them in good stead when times really did get bad as the pandemic struck.

'My client and I gelled from day one and that's what made this such a happy and satisfying project,' says Molly of the top-to-toe, period meets-contemporary refurb of this large detached Edwardian villa in west London, now home to a family of four.

The design process went swimmingly from the outset. The brief was to create a timeless aesthetic; a cosy-yet-cool home that combined textures with tonal colours and materials, with a Soho House vibe,' says Molly. Although the owners, who both work in healthcare, wanted to steer away from the all-white vibe of their previous home, they still craved serenity rather than sensationalism, ruling out anything too bold or too patterned.
