IT'S a beautiful afternoon in Royton Park and Dan is out making the most of the weather with his young son.
The pair are the only two in the playground and almost in the whole park - save for a few other young families dotted around.
It's hard to believe just days ago, this green space was under increased police stop-and-search powers following reports of a 'group of men with weapons' and an incident that left a man with life-changing injuries.
Officers were handed extra powers under Section 60 and 60AA to stop and search people in Royton following a 'number of incidents of disorder' on Sunday night.
But watching his son play, Dan said he isn't worried about the violence the town has seen over the last few days.
"I hadn't heard about what happened over the weekend," he told the Manchester Evening News.
