TAKE That were back on home turf as they kicked off the first of five nights in the city as part of their This Life On Tour shows.
A jubilant home crowd welcomed back the three-piece with open arms - but it almost didn't happen.
The band now made up of Gary Barlow, Mark Owen and Howard Donald were originally due to perform their homecoming shows at the new Co-op Live arena in Eastlands, but because of the issues there their five May dates had to be relocated to the AO Arena this week.
Taking to the stage following support from Olly Murs, Gary Barlow couldn't resist a cheeky quip about the last-minute change of venue, while bandmate Mark Owen wished Co-op Live 'good luck! "Well thank god we got on here tonight," beamed Gary Barlow.
He told fans it was 'lovely to see them all' and to 'settle back and enjoy the show, as he passed over the mic to Howard Donald.
