Black and white photography B is an art form, where a simple conversion to mono is just the beginning of bringing out the best in an image. With this in mind, we'll cover just one simple yet effective conversion method of course, you could use your preferred method but the Gradient Map is quick, easy and effective. We'll then move on to some of the techniques that can be used to enhance black-and-white images further.
For this Get the Look, we're going to take a progressive approach where the techniques will be layered so you can see how each one builds on the overall effect to arrive at a fully processed final result. And when it comes to processing your images, you can apply all or any combination of the effects we'll cover. Beyond the black-and-white conversion, you can even apply the three effects to colour images because they aren't specific to mono.
