<p>NASA used the Chandra X-Ray Observatory and the James Webb Space Telescope, which are both in space, and the Very Large Telescope in Chile, South America.</p>
<p>These telescopes can observe types of light that humans can&rsquo;t see. The data taken from them can then be assigned different colours &ndash; which the human eye can detect &ndash; to create images.</p>
<p>One of the images shows the galactic centre &ndash; the middle of our Milky Way galaxy, which is 26,000 light years from Earth (a light year is the distance light travels in one year). Chandra was able to capture details such as hot clouds of gas and giant stars.</p>
<p>Other images show the Vela Pulsar &ndash; a storm of particles and energy left behind when a star reached the end of its life and exploded more than 10,000 years ago &ndash; and Kepler&rsquo;s Remnant, which is debris from another exploded star.</p>
<p>The telescopes have also shown two distant galaxies, including ESO 137-001 with two trails of hot gas behind it as it moves through space.</p>
