PROFESSORT
WEDNESDAY, 9PM, ITV1 DRAMA
Sunetra Sarker is thrilled to be joining the ranks of ITVI's Cambridge-set whodunnit Professor T - especially as her straight-talking character, DCI Maiya Goswami, makes quite the first impression!
As the third series continues this week, the fourth case A Little Drop of Poison sees the newcomer sporting a bright-red tracksuit as she wanders, without revealing her identify, into a crime scene, while DI Lisa Donckers (played by Emma Naomi) and DS Dan Winters (Barney White) are investigating a sudden death in mysterious circumstances.
Later, with her position now made clear, Maiya shocks everyone further by insisting that the consulting services of Professor Jasper Tempest (Ben Miller) are no longer required. But with the body count rising and links made to a local chocolate factory, will her team follow orders?
TV Times caught up with Sunetra, 50, for an exclusive interview to find out more...
Maiya, a replacement for outgoing DCI Christina Brand (Juliet Aubrey), causes a stir during her debut case. What's your take on her?
