George Osborne delivered his annual
Budget on March 20th, outlining his vision for the economy over the coming year. Amongst his measures was an extension to the FirstBuy scheme, called Help to Buy. When it comes into effect next year, it aims to help first time buyers looking to
get onto the property ladder for a
new-build home. The Government will contribute 20% of the value of the house, interest free, if the buyers can provide a deposit of 5%. This should help both new buyers and house builders, as the demand for new houses should increase as the Help to Buy scheme takes effect.
