Desh 2 May, 2021 issue is a tribute to Satyajit Ray on his birth centenary. One of the greatest and enduring masters of cinema who redefined the language of Indian filmmaking, Ray was a man of many talents. This issue comprises a previously unpublished interview of the auteur given to Andrew Robinson; and a collection of memoirs and essays exploring his life and evolution as a director, writer, illustrator, calligrapher, designer and composer— a composite artist par excellence.
