The 17 November Desh commemorates the centenary of the first publication of Abol Tabol by Sukumar Ray, the iconic book of Nonsense verse in Bengali. Three essays by Trinanjan Chakrabarty, Sebanti Ghosh and Hindol Bhattacharya situate the book in historical/contemporary context.
An essay by Palash Baran Pal on the new age of science/ scientific researches in India is also included in this volume.
