The 17 December Desh assembles seven short stories written by contemporary authors of Bengali Literature namely, Shirshendu Mukhapadhyay, Smaranjit Chakrabarty, Sekhar Mukhapadhyay. Bitan Sikdar, Anwesha Ray, Somja Das and Anupam Chakrabarty.
An essay by Sayandeb Chowdhury commemorating the 125th birth anniversary of the iconic Russian film-maker Sergei Eisenstein is also included in this volume.
Regular sections like the serialized novel Shunya Pather Mallika by Smaranjit Chakrabarty, serialized non-fiction Timir Abagunthane by Rajatkanta Ray, Mantabya, Granthalok, Kabita, Galpo, Shilpo Sanskriti, Chithipatra, Seshkatha etc are there as usual.
