Desh 17 June 2022 issue focuses on the miasma of insularity surrounding Bengali culture. Bengalis, once revered for their tolerance, cosmopolitanism, creativity and intellectual brilliance have now wrapped themselves in a cocoon of parochialism,
looking inwards. We now have a schizoid approach to the unfamiliar and have fallen out of sync with the changing world. We do not engage in cross-cultural dialogues any more.
