After Suspected Reinfection, Hosp Sends Samples For Genomic Study
Mumbai: After two civic-run hospitals encountered suspected cases of Covid ‘reinfection’, Mahim’s PD Hinduja Hospital too has had a case of a healthcare worker testing positive for the second time in an interval of months. Also, the BMC experts, who have already begun a genomic study in other suspected cases of reinfection, have sent samples for reconfirmation to the National Institute of Virology, Pune, after noticing some “variations” between samples sequenced.

Oxygen Use In Maha Has Nearly Doubled In 2 Mths
Mumbai: The surge in Covid-19 cases across the state has seen oxygen consumption almost double to 850 metric tonne now from 450 metric tonne as on July 1. By Tuesday, September 8, active cases in the state had risen to 2.4 lakh from 79,075 on July 1.

Man Held For Child Porn, 700 Pics Of Minors Recovered
Mumbai: Bandra Kurla Complex cyber police have arrested a 20-year-old class XII dropout and resident of Gujarat on charges of child pornography, cyberstalking, hacking the Instagram accounts of minor girls and blackmailing them. Police said the accused coerced the victims into sending him their nude and semi-nude photos and videos. The accused has also been booked under the stringent Prevention of Children from Sexual Offences (Pocso) Act. Police have recovered objectionable photos of more than 700 girls from him. “We are probing if he has sold any photo or video to porn websites or was planning to do so,” said an officer.
