The Price of Freedom - In ‘Freedom’ by the French poet, Charles Peguy, God speaks of his concept of a free man. He compares our trials to a ‘father teaching his son how to swim’. Of allowing the child to take in just enough water that is crucial to learning as anything more would be harmful. If we apply this to our lives, the poet points out, He sends trials to be overcome, to be men…On the one hand, they must work out their salvation for themselves.

‘That is the rule. It allows of no exception. - ‘Because then, ‘it would not be interesting. They would not be men’. ‘We want that salvation to be acquired by himself, Himself,  man.
