Finally, after a healthcare crisis that lasted for months and upturned all our lives, completely changing how we live and work and even legally preventing us from moving around freely, it is now possible to start breathing again and take stock of what has happened.

For two thousand years people have been building their homes and cities using a few simple construction-structural techniques. First of all it was wood, then stone and then bricks. Next came reinforced concrete and then finally iron. Iron, concrete, bricks and other components are now the means architecture uses to create some stylistically and structurally astounding designs.

During this worldwide pandemic, there have been drastic changes in both social and family life, which have also brought to the surface certain design shortcomings in buildings constructed in the residential districts of our cities.

Are we dormant?
I have noticed that there has been almost no debate about the standard and fate of architecture over the last quarter of a century in particular. 
Not so long ago, there were plenty of strong-willed critics and historians, who, along with lots of their colleagues, architects and professors, worked together to control and direct the extremely heavy traffic up until the 1980s, consisting of new theories and stylistic experimentation which, in the wake of rationalism, were beginning to emerge.
Their opinions were always published in leading architecture journals that usually reported any notable changes in design language, and so debate continued at a very healthy rate. Sometimes it was of a highly ideological
nature, as in the case of post-modernism, to such an extent that it helped shape a generation of architectural designers. After this
strange period was over, during which there was even plenty of confrontation between different architects and critical views, the
rise of new technological means of project design and communication meant most architects focused on restructuring their firms and boosting social image....
