本期主題：傳奇強者陶博曼 
11月登場的拍賣重頭戲，莫過於蘇富比於紐約推出的「A．阿弗烈．陶博曼收藏：博蘊菁藏」。身為美國夢代表的陶博曼，在底特律看準機會，著手發展大型購物商場，挑戰了當時「進市區購物」的標準習慣。陶博曼受邀入股蘇富比，從此正式踏進藝術市場，留下諸多創舉（如藝術品融資、打破經濟人壟斷），最後卻也因為涉嫌與佳士得的不當佣金關係，儘管到他死亡前從未認罪，依然受到判刑入獄九個月的刑罰。
