We really out did ourselves for our latest issue, starting with our cover story featuring the one and only Mother Monster, Lady Gaga! In the feature article, writer Tami Austin focuses on Gaga’s amazing philanthropic works with the Born This Way Foundation, her exploits both in music and on screen, her notable tattoo collection and more. 

The always hilarious Jason Ellis is our second feature (and digital cover). In a sprawling conversation with podcast host Sarah Hyland, Ellis talks about how fear motivates him in nearly everything he does, from skating to comedy to podcasting and beyond. One might say Ellis’ true gift is constantly conquering the dread that bubbles up from within.

Welcome to Inked’s Spring 2023 issue! It’s been a bit, but we’re back with a brand new design and outlook.

For the first cover of our new era we’ve got Landon Barker. The son of Travis Barker made his television debut when he was only 18 months old, so he’s no stranger to the limelight. Landon has proven himself to be a style icon for the TikTok generation and he’ll soon be releasing some music of his own. For the interview we wanted to find someone who could get inside Landon’s head, and we couldn’t have found a more perfect person than his girlfriend, Charli D’Amelio. 

This issue is packed with innovators of style, as we are also featuring Dr. Thomas Connelly. Through his inventive approach to cosmetic dentistry and outside-the-box philosophy.We also have interviews with former Manchester United star and style icon David Beckham, third-generation race car driver Ryan Blaney, the hilarious TikTok comedian Hope Schwing and so much more. Our 2022 Lifestyle Issue is unlike anything we’ve ever done before. For the first time we have turned the reins over to a guest creative director—Dominic “The Surgeon” Ciambrone.

Ciambrone had a hand in nearly every aspect of this unique issue. He didn’t merely choose people who inspire him to take part in the issue—he conducted many of the interviews, directed the photoshoots and even got behind the camera himself. He even interviewed himself which is no easy task.

After more than two decades as a band, Mastodon continues to innovate with each subsequent album. Brann Dailor and Bill Kelliher spoke with us about the band’s eighth studio album, “Hushed and Grim,” and how it all came together during an intense emotional time.

Jenna Romaine spoke to rapper Vic Mensa about how he is a man of two very different worlds—Ghana and Chicago—and how that has made him into the person he is today. We had a conversation with Shina Novalinga, an Inuk woman who has brought indigenous culture to the masses via TikTok of all places. When Koe Wetzel named his rebel country group Koe Wetzel and the Konvicts he was simply going for an alliteration, but in our interview he tells us how the name became apt after a drunken boat party. Tom May of indie-punk darlings The Menzingers sat down with us to discuss reworking and re-recording an album in quarantine. Peach PRC explained how her real-life relationships have been changed by calling out an ex directly and by name in a hit song.

Not everything in the issue is music-related, we also have legendary graffiti artist Cope 2 tells us how his career has changed from tagging trains in the ‘70s to having world-renowned galleries host his shows. We’re starting out 2022 with a bang!

20 years after her game-changing debut album, “Let Go,” Avril Lavigne has returned to her punk rock roots and the cover of Inked. Lavigne dishes on her upcoming studio album, which she wrote while burnt out on love after a breakup. Against the odds, in the midst of writing about heartbreak and revenge, Lavigne wound up finding love along the way.

We made history with this issue. For the first time ever, we partnered up with our sister publication “Revolver” to showcase the talents of hip-hop duo City Morgue. ZillaKami and SosMula both grew up with an eclectic love for music and when they met at a tattoo shop, City Morgue was born. Their chemistry was instantaneous and today, they’re three studio albums deep, performed around the world and created a punk rap empire.

Reggaeton has officially gone international, but everything goes back to Puerto Rico. And one of PR’s hottest exports, Rauw Alejandro, is leading the charge of the modern reggaeton movement. 2021 was a breakout year for Alejandro, as he released his second studio album “Vice Versa” and won a coveted Latin Grammy award for his multi-platinum single “Tattoo (Remix).” But 2022 will be another banger for Alejandro, as he’s on the precipice of dropping his highly anticipated mixtape, “Trap Cake Vol. 2.”

But that’s not all. NLE Choppa stopped by our New York headquarters to discuss his second studio album “Me vs. Me” with hip-hop writer Christina Lee. We spoke to TikTok heartthrob Vinnie Hacker about his meteoric rise to social media stardom. Plus, we asked some of NYC’s top artists to add some flair to ice-dyed hoodies, talked to some world-renowned tattoo artists and much, much more.

We start it off with Brooke Candy on one of the most visually interesting covers we’ve ever done. The multi-talented artist was inspired by Macrophilia—a fetish involving the adoration of giantesses. Candy turned the fetish on its head and gave it a feminist spin, then opened up about how she learned how to tattoo during lockdown.

The always stylish G-Eazy is featured on another one of our covers. In a conversation with Christina Lee the rapper opened up about having to postpone his latest album for a year, the way he cringes when listening to some of his older material and the deep friendship he had with the late Mac Miller.

While the haters like to dismiss it as "kid stuff," Americans spend far more on video games than they do on any other entertainment industry each year. The industry's tentacles reach into every part of our lives and on top of the heap you'll find FaZe Clan. To learn more about what motivates the content-creation behemoth we had DJ Scheme (a gaming fanatic himself) interview two of the collective's OGs—FaZe Temperrr and FaZe Adapt.

If that was all we had it would be more than enough, but there's so much more. Nick Fierro was able to track down survivalist and TikTok sensation Donny Dust to talk about living life off the grid. We spoke with actress Daniella Pineda and geeked out about the upcoming “Cowboy Bepop” series. Plus we curated a killer art project featuring Munny dolls, talked with some amazing tattooers and more.

Summer may be over, but our Fall Issue is stuffed to the brim with amazing articles. On one of our three covers we have the Prince of Reggaeton, J Balvin. We spoke with the artist about his upcoming album, "José," his new adventure in parenting and the importance of mental health.

On our second cover we gave model and body positivity activist Tess Holliday free rein to design her shoot, and boy did she impress. Holliday channeled her inner Pamela Anderson as she recreated the vibe from Anderson's 1996 film "Barb Wire." After the shoot, Holliday opened up about why representation matters and how her tattoos have helped her build confidence.

On our final cover we have the winner of our annual Cover Girl Contest, Jessica Carter! We spoke with Carter and the runners-up about their lives and what it means to be an Inked Cover Girl.
