Our magazine is once again marking International Women's Month (March). On this occasion we have chosen to highlight how important providing a level playing field is for this generation of women and the next. Equal opportunities is an oft-used phrase, but what it means in reality is making sure that all humans - whether female or male - are given exactly the same chance of success - or failure. Whilst we are not specialists on the subject of female empowerment, the majority of our team is female, the notable exceptions including our brilliant Senior Designer, Kamil Qallalweh.
In our lead article, "Empowering the next generation", we take a snapshot of how women in MENA fare in business and politics and how far we have to go to banish the gender gap that is all pervasive in our region in so many ways.
Another related article by the UN/UNESCWA looks at how economic empowerment through entrepreneurship and innovation is vital for women in our region.
We have curated a kaleidoscope of subjects for readers of Issue 26 that range from the circular economy, a parent's guide to safe video gaming, websites and blogs for your business, the rise and rise of family offices, and the World Economic Forum's view on our burning planet.
As our magazine is published in both English and Arabic, with stand-alone articles in each section (not just a translated repeat), we would love to hear your feedback.
We'd like to finish by saying that in a world where truly awful things happen on a daily basis, especially so in our region, it can be the smallest acts of kindness that are the most important. So if you do one thing today, please take time to be kind to those who are less fortunate than yourself. We're all human.
