For anyone who has yet to encounter the Woodworker magazine, this is the chance to fill your boots with all manner of carpentry related instruction and entertainment. This month we have a look at improving a workbench, pulling the string on a longbow (with guidance on how to get started making your own), and enhancing your turned work. We join a graduate maker on her journey back in time, and generally have a high old time of it.

After an incredible 120-year journey, it’s with a heavy heart that we must finally announce the closure of The Woodworker. 

While I can only lay claim to have being involved in a small part of the magazine’s long heritage, my time as editor was incredibly enjoyable and it’s difficult to see how another publication could ever come close.
