It is interesting that the present government is on a fast track and could be able to come to conclusions on issues of national importance, which were pending since last seven decades.The scrapping of Article 370 and 35A from the constitution of
India and resolving the issue of Ram Temple at Ayodhya are the two issues, which has come to its logical conclusion.  In India, we have long list of such issues, which needs to be brought to its logical conclusion. The Naga Peace is yet another issue in North East, waiting to see the light of the day. China is continuing to create border disputes.  The expansionist policy of China is a threat to the world security which is indeed a cause of concern for all. Corona Virus has put the whole world under lockdown. All economic activities has come to a standstill. People are dying at an alarming rate. When we compare the death rate in India with the rest of the world, India is very much praiseworthy. In the North Eastern Region of India, the spread of this virus is within manageable limit. The Tug Of War for the Citizenship Amendment Bill in the Northeast of India and
more so in Assam is an issue which will decide the faith of the entire Northeast of
India and more so the country in the times to come. We have tried to give brief details about the bill and take the views from both the parties who are for and against the bill. The issue of Citizenship Amendment Bill is not only sensitive but also very complicated in nature. As the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party has re-iterated that all the Hindus who migrated from Bangladesh will be granted Indian Citizenship, but the indigenous Assamese communities and people of northeast India are simply not willing to accept this as the probability of them becoming minority in their own states is significantly high. There is also the feeling of threat to their Indigenous Language and Culture. In such circumstances, political maturity is required to settle the issue.
