Our main article this month focuses on “The ABC of Barbel Basics” for all those anglers who really want to target this specie. Paul Rawsthorne has some real extra ordinary tactics to take note of.
Many anglers arrive at their favourite fishing spots without inspecting the margins. What are margins and their significance? If you want to increase your catch rate you will have to “Correctly fish the Margins”. Then, “Catch & Release” is a sensitive issue in South Africa with many specimen carp anglers driving the awareness and many conventional carp anglers are showing concern and now acknowledging the importance of this practice, but we still have a very long way to go to ensure more anglers consider catch and release.
Focussing on art lure we have an article on “Tactics for targeting mullet” and catching “Tiger fish on a budget” at some of our best local waters. We also target “Vlei- and canary-kurper on lures”.
Our destination for this month is Sunnyside Farm. Enjoy!

These include providing a platform for informed debate on issues affecting the sport of angling, providing information on angling strategies and techniques, angling waters and opportunities, and also creating awareness of new products.
Within this editorial mix, due consideration is given to developing the sport among all the country's people (including the youth), and to the practical conservation of the country's natural resources.
