A New Dawn For Pit Bulls In South Africa

In June 2018 the Pit bull Federation of South Africa made the decision to end the old Pit Bull show sports (weight pull, long hang and high jump) and decided to take the lead by introducing agility and obedience.

The old show sports have always been a controversial topic. There are those who feel that if done correctly, they don’t cause harm to these dogs. but there are those who feel that they’re cruel and do nothing to promote a positive image of Pit bulls in society. The NSPCA has been monitoring shows since 2014, and they raised serious concerns about the sports and how they affect the welfare of these dogs.
