CYCLING and equestrian bodies hope their collaboration will help prevent future incidents such as a recent horse injury after cyclists ignored requests to slow down.

Tamsin Reynolds’ hunter Zeke was diagnosed with inflammation around the tendons and check ligament after he was spooked on the road by three cyclists.

The men, who had been approaching “at speed”, ignored both hand signals and a verbal request, said Tamsin, who was hacking with a friend.

“The cyclists hurled abuse back at us,” she said. “So I yelled that they needed to respect other users of the road. At no point did they stop or look to see if we were ok.”
