THE Showing Council has released an updated blueprint in response to the Government’s roadmap out of lockdown.
The evolving document was first sent out in July 2020 as a guide for the resumption of showing in England.
Recent changes include the recommendation to “stay local”. Competitors are not allowed to ride for more than one stable at one show and judges will not ride, although this is under review.
“It’s had an interesting evolution,” Showing Council chair David Ingle told H&H. “We initially released it as the showing community had so many questions regarding the recommencement after the first lockdown. Since then, it’s become apparent that something was really needed. Every time there was a change to official guidance, the blueprint was revised.

Olympic eventer Tine Magnus has denied ever doping after her Paris ride Dia Van Het Lichterveld Z gave a positive test at the Games. This means the Belgian team, which came fourth, has been disqualified. On 4 September, the FEI said the 10-year-old mare, owned by Kris van Vaerenbergh, tested positive for trazodone, which is listed as an antidepressant on the FEI's prohibited substances list.
