AFTER two years on the sidelines, nine-year-old Badbad Leroy Brown landed the mixed open impressively under Zak Baker for keeper Stephen Wiles, in only his second start since 2019.
The Lucarno gelding finished second in his first run, also at Garthorpe, a month previously.
“He likes good ground, so by the time we got him ready last season, sport was shut down before we’d had the chance to run him, so he hasn’t run for nearly two years,” said Stephen. “He was second in his first run back, so we were hopeful he’d improved from that, and he proved us right. Zak is a brilliant jockey and gave him a great ride.”
Stephen admits the gelding can be “a bit of a handful at home”.
