1934 FORD COUPE
PAUL TOTEVSKI
HI-WAY 31 RODDERS
MILL PARK, VIC
After years of hard work, Paul Totevski decided he was finally going to get back into the car scene. As a youngster in the eighties he owned a GTR XU1 Torana and a HJ GTS Monaro, but they were both sold off to make way for marriage, a house and the expenses that come with having kids.
“I was thinking about getting a ’65 Mustang and my electrician buddy, Donald had one in his workshop. I enquired about getting a Mustang and he asked, why don’t you build a hot rod? I had no idea what a hot rod was so Donald showed me some photos, I started looking through pictures in hot rod magazines and the cars that really grabbed my eye all had the big rubber, exposed motors and a tough old pro street look.”
Paul purchased the chassis for his first hot rod, this wild ’34 Ford three window coupe, nearly 30 years ago. The pitted original Ford chassis was bought from Con Mantzaris, who then greatly helped Paul by putting him in touch with the engineers, industry suppliers and experts who could help bring his dream to reality. Con encouraged Paul to visit Rod City, Deuce Customs and Hot Rod Hardware to source parts for his build while Paul’s neighbour, Dennis, who is a qualified mechanic and has a workshop in Collingwood, got out in the garage with Paul every night, getting stuck into this new project.
