The 2020 World Car Awards may have recognized electric cars and electrification but, ironically, the top award went to a car on the exact opposite side of that spectrum. Here are the winners from this year

EVERY YEAR, THE WORLD CAR AWARDS ASSEMBLE TO hand out the most prestigious set of awards, including the big one, the World Car of the year, after a panel of esteemed automotive journalists the world over converge to determine the best of the best. this year, however, with the impact of the pandemic, the World Car Awards were limited to the digital media and the reveal was made public online. the awards and its 86 jurors from 25 countries around the world recognized the widespread impact of the CovId-19 pandemic and extended their condolences to all those affected. In deference to that impact, the reveal of the 2020 World Car awards winners was done only via the digital media.

World Car of the Year: Kia Telluride

THE KIA TELLURIDE HAS BAGGED THE BIG one — the World car of the Year award for 2020. The Telluride is a full-size premium SUV, a category that has found many takers even today and has stood out enough to claim the most prestigious award in the automobile landscape.

The Kia Telluride was rewarded by the judging panel for its distinctive design and impressive practicality. The World car of the Year title represents another accolade for a vehicle that has garnered more than 70 awards since its introduction in 2019. The SUV has already been crowned North American utility Vehicle of the Year and MotorTrend SUV of the Year, among others.
