In 2017, MG’s parent company SAIC organised its fifth annual design competition, inviting entries from students throughout the world – with an active outreach for the first time seeking European entries.

MG Enthusiast has been closely following and reporting on MG’s reinvention, including unprecedented access to the company’s Global Design Director Shao JingFeng, who is based in Anting, not far from Shanghai. We were therefore delighted when David Knowles received a personal invitation from Mr Shao to be one of the panel of judges who would decide the winners from an impressive array of finalists, each of whom had already spent time working at either the Anting or Longbridge studios.
