Noah Alexander and his team of craftsmen have forged a reputation for building show-winning hot rods and sports cars with the reliability and performance of modern supercars at their St. Louis shop that is the subject of the Velocity show Speed is the New Black
Picture walking into a 40,000 square foot facility with an array of classic cars and trucks that range from showroom stock muscle cars to 1000+ horsepower pickups with turbochargers sticking out of the hood. Imagine the smell of leather being formed into seats and the sound of TIG welders bonding metal together. In the same building, paint and body experts are putting the finishing touches on a customer’s dream build. This custom car fantasy land exists, and it’s called Classic Car Studio.
The instant someone sets foot into Classic Car Studio (CCS) and sees what this restoration and custom shop is about, they know they are in for a wild ride. Not only does this shop do all of its own work in-house, but it focuses on creating well-rounded vehicles that customers can go out and really drive. This St. Louis based shop was started back in 2006 by owner Noah Alexander and his partner Nick Leidenfrost with the intention of creating custom vehicles that were more than just show pieces – they were true performance machines and were meant to be driven to be fully enjoyed.
“Each new build is an exciting one, but my favorite build is always the next one,” Leidenfrost joked. “We never know what the next adventure will be when a car or truck rolls into the shop. People assume that if a car was built on TV, it probably is just for show, but that’s not the case here.” Alexander added, “We always tell our customers, drive it like you stole it - we want you to see its full potential.”
