Our '55 Ford Gets a Custom Digital Dash

One of the major considerations when building any street rod should be maintaining continuity of design, making all the modification from one end to the other with the same sense of period-correctness and style. That can be a challenge, particularly with custom cars where changes are often made just because they can be, not necessarily because they should be.

When Eric Black produced the artwork for the 2019 ARP/STEET RODDER Road Tour car it was a template for the car’s design. It then became the responsibility of Troy Ladd and his Hollywood Hot Rods (HHR) staff to turn his vision into reality. To HHR’s credit they did that by integrating all the changes to our '55 Ford in such a way that none of the modifications stick out as a change for the sake of change, all the modifications look like they belong on the same car—a perfect example is the dashboard.
