Kev Hill did a portrait of his family dog at the tender age of nineteen, he found that not only was the image very good, but that he’d enjoyed the process too. He discovered a market for animal portraiture which led Kev to create images of horses too. He entered a few competitions and won his fair share; he was even crowned South Yorkshire Artist of the Year in 2004. This led him to take a Fine Arts degree as a mature student. Whilst at Uni, as part of his degree, he painted a large piece in oils that portrayed the Baptism of Christ. He didn’t want it to go to waste, so approached his local church in Rotherham to see if he could donate it to them. They liked it but had to jump through a few legal hoops before they could display it.
