The former home of the Indian Grand Prix saw some racing action, hosting the final round of the JK racing championship
RACING ACTION RETURNED to the Buddh International Circuit for the final round of the 2017 JK Tyre FMSCI National Racing Championship. This year also marked twenty years of JK Tyres supporting the country’s premier racing series. The weekend was set to witness an exciting finish, with Anindith Reddy starting as hot favourite to defend his title in the Euro JK 17 series, while Chittesh Mandody was looking to take home the championship in the LGB 4 series.
It was Vishnu Prasad, leading the Euro series till the last round, where some bad luck, forced him to retire from two races on Day 1. He came back strong on day two to win one and take second place in the next to keep himself in contention going into the final round. The Chennai lad was also the challenger in the LGB 4 category, behind Mandody. The weekend also saw action on two wheels with the JK Tyre Suzuki Gixxer Cup, a single make series for young upcoming riders, with the addition of the FIM Asia Cup of Road Racing (ACRR), an FIM sanctioned event for young riders from different Asian countries, along with two super bike races, the JK SBK 600 and 1000cc.
