A rich heritage, spotless tailoring, and Italian refinement—Stefano Gaudioso Tramonte, style director at Corneliani, reveals why he is steering the brand towards a path of elegance. Dapper grooms, take note.
Like it or not, it’s the era of street cred. From the visual to the actual to the lingual, the vibe is undeniable— charming its way into society and in fashion, we like our dose of youth culture one season at a time. Stefano Gaudioso Tramonte came to helm Italian menswear label Corneliani in the autumn of 2016 with a dual profile as the style director and the general merchandising manager. With almost a score of collections under his belt highlighting finer aesthetics and a fresher, debonair approach, we set out to find the driving force behind Gaudioso Tramonte’s rejig of Corneliani and why his latest offering is the perfect armour for dapper grooms.
WHAT IS IT LIKE TO BE THE STYLE DIRECTOR AT CORNELIANI?
My role is quite uncommon in our industry. I’m the style director but at the same time, the general merchandising manager. I have a very creative part to play but on the other side, I am very analytical and know the competition very well. My team analyses everything, and we do a bit of number crunching like complexity, target price, and positioning. In the meantime, we also start creating, designing, and developing projects. It’s dead exhausting but very rewarding and motivating at the same time.
