It was a momentous occasion for Construction Week India. The much-awaited Metro Rail Summit to be held in March and had to be postponed due to the pandemic saw the light on October 27. Our audience continued to throng the virtual event and their pleasure was evident from the fact that they needed to ask questions.
The event this year also saw several partners joining us. Our HVAC partner Blue Star, cable technology company APAR, associate partner J. Kumar, exhibit partner Lipi, knowledge partner Tata Projects, and construction equipment company Sany India – all helped make the event memorable.
MEETING OF MINDS
Our opening note was delivered by Bibhor Srivastava, group publishing director, ITP Media Group (India). He highlighted the progress of Metro Rail in India and spoke of the importance of making transportation a quick success so as to save time.
Our keynote speaker for the day was none other than the harming Sonia Sethi, Additional Metropolitan Commissioner and Project Director MUTP, MMRDA. Speaking on Making Metros more Sustainable, she began by talking about the pandemic has been a crucible for everyone. “Metros have now resumed operations after several months. Leadership is about coping with change. Following the guidelines laid down by the Ministry, we need to find a middle path to complete projects and also make it sustainable. To achieve our targets of timely completion, we are leaving no stone unturned. Construction of the Mumbai Metro is challenging considering that we have to look at the congestion that Mumbai has.”
