The 14th edition of Kerala Bamboo Fest held in Kochi presented several unique and interesting items derived from the plant
Bicycles have always been a child’s most loved playmate. How about making it eco friendly! KOL, a group of young innovative minds, is engaged in a new venture to make our world green and dynamic by launching a bicycle made out of bamboo. The initiative of IIT graduate Nikhil Kunnathu was the biggest highlight of the 14th edition of Kerala Bamboo Fest 2017 held at Marine Drive Ground in Kochi recently.
A C Moideen, Minister for Industries, inaugurated the five-day event organised by Kerala Bureau of Industrial Promotion (K-BIP) and Kerala State Bamboo Mission. Craftsmen from Kerala and 11 other states exhibited products made out of bamboo. K V Thomas MP; Hibi Eden MLA; Soumini Jain, Kochi Mayor; Paul Antony IAS, Additional Chief Secretary, Industries & Commerce; K N Satheesh IAS, Director of Industries and V Rajagopal, CEO, K-BIP were the other dignitaries who attended the ceremony.
