His latest stint as Chairman of Catholic Syrian Bank (CSB) comes at a difficult time when one of India’s oldest private sector lenders is looking for suitable investors.Interacting with Destination Kerala at CSB headquarters in Thrissur, T S Anantharaman looks little bemused over Fairfax Financial Holdings Ltd. calling off the deal to purchase 51 per cent stake in CSB. “Now we have to decide what exactly we want. We need capital. No doubt about it, but we are not desperate. We have sufficient capital to function without much trouble. But, expansion is part and parcel of every growth story. And we are really preparing for rapid expansion,” says Anantharaman.
