On her fifth month of pregnancy, Malika Sadani accompanied her husband to London. The city taught her how to be carefully independent during those months. Asking for toxin-free products, she learnt, is not being unusual but a norm. However, it was difficult to find similar products for her daughter, once she came back to India in 2013.
“I constantly looked for people who were travelling to London and asked them to get me such toxin free products,” says the 35-year-old. Realizing the gap, she started outsourcing those products and tried selling them in India. The idea failed but it gave her momentum to create her own brand.
Toxin free organic products were vividly out of imagination and access for the 1.324 billion Indians until Sadani started The Mom’s Co in 2015. Looking at the impact of The Honest Company, organic mother and baby care brand, Sadani knew toxin free organic products are the need of the hour. Now, with 11 products on the racks and 10 in the pipeline, she plans to expand through omni-channel route.
