French luxury brand Cartier has always placed customer experience as a priority, so to that end, the brand, part of the Richemont group, has recently been doing some selective trimming of its outlets, closing seven of them to bring total boutiques down to 276 worldwide, of which 78 are internally managed by the brand. Cartier Chief Executive Cyrille Vigneron is looking to do even more improvements. “We have many initiatives for retail, the first is that we want to entirely renovate our stores, because they have become too stiff and too dry,” says Cyrille in an exclusive interview during the Cartier Women’s Initiative Awards in Singapore last April. He aims that in three or four years all the brand’s boutiques will be renovated.
