Fusing the contemporary and traditional sensibilities in an elegant conflence is a common theme running across both these store design projects. Designed by Delhi-based design and architecture studio RMDK, the aesthetics at Saugaat, the luxury dessert store in Delhi, and at Dadu’s, a pioneer in traditional sweets and snacks in Hyderabad, are a journey into sensory indulgence, just like the products they sell. Here’s a look at both these dessert destinations located in Delhi and Hyderabad respectively.
FOR A SUMPTUOUS VISUAL TREAT…

SAUGAAT, NEW DELHI

Saugaat store in Delhi enfolds the contemporary and the traditional in a charmingly graceful blend. There is the modern expression of comfort and warm personal interactions, with a touch of old-world charm. Designed by RMDK, the architecture studio, the store embodies a stylish retail experience.

Functionally divided into three zones - casual browsing, feature display and premium display; a strong design language ties the entire space together. Speaking about the floor layout, Dhruva explains, “The minimal wooden ceiling rafters along the casual browsing surround and bring focus to the extravagant geometric patterned ceiling in the premium display and the subtle vaulted ceiling in the feature display, defining the three major zones and circulation patterns within the store.”

“Saugaat is carefully fashioned to exude a serene sense of vastness of space while also ensuring the products on display shine through. Orchestrating a harmonious symphony of various colours, materials and textures, special attention has been paid to each and every minute detail, especially where different materials come together to create a seamless visual treat for the store visitors.”
