We get real comfy under the sheets with the former Ch 8 actress, who reveals her most intimate thoughts about leaving Mediacorp, working in China, and her bra (yes, really), in what would turn out to be her most liberating, not to mention, sexiest shoot yet.
We’ve just spent a whole day in bed with Julie Tan. And if we smoked, we would be reaching for a cigarette. It would be nice if we could just end the story here and let you guys imagine what actually transpired between us and the star. But life doesn’t always go the way you want, does it?
We’re at a two-bedroom suite at the Oakwood Premier OUE Singapore, a luxurious serviced apartment in the heart of the CBD. Its location, above the OUE Downtown Gallery, means we’re greeted with not just fancy art but also an expansive view of the glistening skyscrapers that populate the business district. It also means that if we were to focus our gaze on the office buildings around us, we can see the many OLs and salarymen in their cubicles, undulating through the humdrum of daily office life.
And if we can see them, it also means that they too can see us. After all, our curtains have been drawn wide open to let the natural light in. Or whatever light is left, since the sky has turned unusually dark.
“Let me show them my butt!”, a, um, cheeky Julie teases like a rogue ray of sunlight as she stands on the bed, clad in nothing but a silk La Perla bodysuit. She doesn’t actually flash anyone but she does give a naughty little twirl as our photog snaps away. With Julie, there’s always an air of naughtiness, and she takes pleasure in seeing how it throws people off. Like how she cheekily purrs “Don’t fall in love with me ah”, when our photog praises her for looking good in a series of shots.
There’s a new confidence to the 24-year-old too. Okay, so it’s not like Julie has ever come across meek or timid. But these days, she just seems freer, more liberated. And no, it has nothing to do with her being in just her underwear today.
