Earne: ‘Motherhood Can Be Overwhelming

She’s one of the biggest names in radio and TV, and has recently added another string to her bow as a successful author.

But Fearne Cotton insists she’s just like any other mum when she’s at home with husband Jesse Wood, 41, and their children, Rex, five, and Honey, three, and admits that motherhood can be a real struggle.

The 37-year old says, “Meal times with the kids can be brilliant or horrific. Sometimes I’m having bowls of pasta thrown at me and weeping in the corner. It’s tricky. I underestimated that sort of thing when going into parenthood. You’re like, ‘Yay, I’m pregnant.’ But then there’s all these hurdles to get through – and meal times are a big one. You have patches when the kids are eating brilliantly, and then times when it’s more difficult.”

SCARED

Fearne shot to fame at just 16 as a presenter on children’s show Diggit, before becoming the face of Top Of The Pops in 2003, and the voice of Radio 1’s mid-morning show in 2009 – until she decided to step down in 2015 to focus on her family.
